Albany Medical Center
Albany Medical Center (part of the Albany Med Health System) is northeastern New York’s only academic medical center and a major regional healthcare hub with 766 beds, a busy level 1–trauma-capable emergency department, a dedicated pediatric emergency department, ICU services for adults and children, and organ transplantation. It partners with Albany Medical College, which trains more than 200 new physicians annually and operates the region’s largest physician practice and a biomedical research enterprise. The system is nonprofit, regionally governed, and serves northeastern New York and western New England with a wide range of clinical services, including orthopedics, endocrinology, surgery, mental health, and more. For neurology-specific care, Albany Medical Center provides comprehensive neurology services as part of its broad neuroscience and medical offerings, integrated within the academic medical center and affiliated hospital network.
