Sleep Evaluation and Consultation: What is involved?
The sleep evaluation by the healthcare providers at TriCounty Pulmonary & Sleep Clinic located at 424 S. 13th Ave, Laurel, MS 39440 in Laurel. During the evaluation, your medical history and sleep problems will be evaluated. If possible, your spouse should attend with you, as he/she can be valuable in describing sleep events that you are not aware of. This sleep evaluation will help define your sleep problem as well as explain diagnostic and treatment options.
Sleep Study: What does the overnight sleep study involve?
Sleep apnea is diagnosed via an overnight sleep study (polysomnogram) at the Sleep Center. The patient sleeps in one of our rooms; the study typically runs from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next morning. The room is designed for comfort and privacy, and the patient will be monitored by a sleep tech.
Who can refer for sleep evaluation?
Patients may be self-referred or referred by their physician for a sleep evaluation.
