The Rhode Island Department of Behavioral Healthcare, Developmental Disabilities and Hospitals (BHDDH) is Rhode Island’s government agency overseeing mental health, substance use, and developmental disability services, including the Eleanor Slater Hospital system. It aims to provide high-quality, safe, affordable, and coordinated care across the full continuum of services for Rhode Islanders with mental illness, addictions, or developmental disabilities, and to develop policies to support community health and recovery.
